The notion of legal friction is a good way of looking at the cost, delay and doubt of legal documentation.  Friction means the labor or grind of getting to the result.  Repeating the idea yet again, it struck me that friction was conquered with ball-bearings.  Bits that move independently.   Modules of text that are reused to carry forward the endeavor are like the logs under the blocks that built the pyramids, or the BBs in your bike wheels.
